Keep Status On

How to keep Teams and Slack online: Keep Status On FAQ

Practical answers for people who want to stay available in Microsoft Teams or keep Slack active in the browser, with setup steps, troubleshooting and honest limitations.

Does Keep Status On keep Slack and Microsoft Teams online?

Yes. Keep Status On is designed to keep your status online in Slack and Microsoft Teams in the browser. It maintains activity in selected tabs by refreshing them every four minutes, without moving your mouse. To use it, sign in to the services, enable their tabs in the extension, and keep the browser open, your connection active and your computer running.

Can I use Slack and Microsoft Teams at the same time?

Yes. Open and sign in to each service in its own tab, then select the tabs in Keep Status On. Each tab has independent start, stop and scheduling controls. Keep the browser and selected tabs open.

Can I schedule days of the week?

Yes. Weekly scheduling lets you choose days and start/end times, like an alarm. Manual, start/end time, end-only and duration modes are also available. Schedules do not start a closed browser or wake a powered-off computer.

Does it work with desktop apps or move my mouse?

No. Keep Status On is a browser extension, not a desktop mouse mover. Use Slack and Microsoft Teams for the web. It does not control their native desktop applications.

Which browsers can I install it on?

Chrome and Brave use the Chrome Web Store package; Microsoft Edge and Firefox have dedicated listings. Opera is submitted for moderation. Safari is in App Store review preparation, not publicly released yet. See the setup guide for current installation links.

How much does it cost?

The web subscription is USD 2.99 per month after an eligible one-time 30-day trial with a payment method. Final currency and terms are shown before checkout. Existing subscribers retain their plan terms. When enabled, eligible new accounts can use up to 30 minutes per UTC day; it does not reset trial eligibility. Safari Apple billing is being prepared and is not a live purchase option yet.

Will it keep my screen awake?

Where supported, it uses browser power APIs or Screen Wake Lock. Browser and operating-system restrictions can limit display wake support; keeping the screen awake is not guaranteed.

Does it read Slack or Teams conversations?

No. Local service-login indicators do not read conversations, passwords or service authentication tokens. They do not verify online presence. Account, installation, billing and usage data handling is explained in the privacy policy.

How do I cancel or delete my account?

Open Account settings to manage your subscription and credentials or delete your account. Read the data deletion instructions before proceeding. Removing the extension alone does not cancel your subscription.

Is Keep Status On affiliated with Slack or Microsoft?

No. Keep Status On is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Slack Technologies or Microsoft.

How do I keep Microsoft Teams online and available?

Install Keep Status On from your browser's official listing, sign in to Keep Status On, and open Microsoft Teams for the web in a separate tab. Sign in to Teams, select that tab in the extension, and start manually or choose a schedule. Leave the browser and Teams tab open. This helps maintain browser activity without moving the mouse; Teams still decides whether your status appears available, busy or away.

How do I keep Slack active with a green dot?

Open your Slack workspace in the browser and sign in. In Keep Status On, sign in and enable that workspace tab, then start a manual or scheduled session. Keep the tab and browser open. The extension helps maintain activity, but Slack determines whether it shows the green active dot or marks you away. It does not control the Slack desktop app.

Can I refresh Teams or Slack automatically without a mouse jiggler?

Yes. While a selected tab's session is active and your account has access, Keep Status On refreshes that tab every four minutes instead of moving your mouse. You can enable more than one tab and stop each independently. Browser throttling or computer sleep can delay refreshes; reloading alone does not guarantee online presence. Save unfinished work before enabling automatic refresh.

Why does Teams or Slack still show me as away?

An away or inactive indicator is controlled by the service, not verified by Keep Status On. Check your connection, service sign-in, browser permissions, account access and whether that tab's session is active or its schedule has ended. Browser background restrictions, computer sleep and organization policies may also affect activity. Check the service's own presence settings; a local signed-in indicator is not proof that you are online.

Can I keep several Slack workspaces and Teams tabs active together?

Yes. Open each workspace or Teams web session in its own tab and sign in to the intended service account. Enable each tab separately in Keep Status On and choose its manual session or schedule. One tab can stop while others continue. Browser sign-in rules still apply; the extension does not create separate service accounts or bypass workspace access restrictions.

Is staying online the same as setting Available or Do not disturb?

No. Browser activity, online presence, a custom status message and notification settings are different things. Keep Status On refreshes selected tabs; it does not promise to override a manually selected Teams status, meeting-related presence, Slack status message or Do not disturb settings. Manage those settings in Teams or Slack.

Will Teams stay green or Slack stay online if I close the browser or my computer sleeps?

Do not rely on it. Keep Status On needs the browser and selected tabs open on a running computer. It cannot run refreshes in a closed browser or wake a powered-off computer. Display wake support is separate from online presence and may be limited by browser or operating-system restrictions.

How do I stop Teams from showing away after five minutes?

Use Keep Status On with your Teams web tab selected and its session running to maintain browser activity every four minutes. Leave the browser open and your computer awake and connected. If Teams still changes to away, check for a locked or sleeping computer, expired sign-in, a paused session or organization restrictions. The extension does not change Teams' idle-time policy; five minutes is a common search phrase, not a timeout that applies to every account.

Can I keep Teams green and Slack active on a Mac or Windows PC?

Yes. Use Keep Status On in a supported desktop browser on macOS or Windows, open Teams for the web or your Slack workspace, and enable those tabs. Chrome and Brave use the Chrome Web Store listing; Edge and Firefox have their own listings. This is browser-based activity, not control of the native Teams or Slack desktop apps. See the setup guide for current browser availability.

How do I keep Teams or Slack active on an iPhone or Android phone?

Keep Status On's currently published extensions are for supported desktop browsers. To use this product, open Teams or Slack in your computer's browser and enable the relevant tabs there. It does not control the iPhone or Android apps, and a desktop session does not promise to keep a mobile app active in the background. Use the services' own mobile availability settings for phone-specific behavior.

Is there a Slack always-active or Teams always-available extension instead of a script?

Yes. Keep Status On is a browser extension for maintaining activity in Slack and Microsoft Teams tabs, with manual sessions, multiple tabs and weekly schedules. Install it from the official browser-store links in the setup guide; you do not need to paste a script into the developer console. Sign in, enable the service tabs and keep your browser and computer running. It works with web sessions and does not replace the services' own status or notification settings.
