Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Keep Status On collects, uses, stores, and deletes information when you use our website, browser extension, native applications, account, and subscription.

Information we collect

• Account information: name and email address, plus a password hash when you register with email.
• Social login information: provider name, provider account identifier, verified email, and profile name supplied by Google, Apple, Microsoft, or Facebook when enabled.
• Device information: a randomly generated installation identifier, platform, and update timestamps.
• Historical usage information: legacy daily usage records created before paid-only access was introduced. New versions no longer report daily usage counters.
• Subscription information: Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, status, billing period, and payment-related metadata. We do not store full card numbers.
• Operational information: request identifiers, security events, and limited server logs required to operate and protect the service.

Browser extension data

The extension stores selected tab identifiers, titles, URLs, schedules, an installation identifier, and a cached subscription status in browser storage. This state supports tab refresh, scheduling, display wake, and account verification. Tab state is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate you, link installations to your account, verify paid access, provide subscriptions, prevent fraud, troubleshoot failures, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.

Service providers

We use MongoDB for account and device storage, Stripe for subscription payments, and enabled identity providers for sign-in. These providers process information under their own privacy terms. Hosting infrastructure may process network and operational metadata.

Retention and security

We retain account and subscription data while your account is active and as needed for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution obligations. Historical usage records are retained only as long as needed for legitimate operational and legal purposes. Installation IDs are hashed on the server. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no system is completely secure.

Your choices and rights

You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal information. Removing the extension clears its browser-local state. Account deletion requests are described on our data deletion page.

Children and international use

Keep Status On is not directed to children under 13. Information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards.
